Inc. Magazine Names Ascellon Corporation One of the “Inner City 100”
June 2008 Inc. Magazine, a publication for CEOs and owners of private,
fast-growing companies, together with the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), have once again
designated Ascellon Corporation as one of the “Inner City 100.” This award recognizes America's fastest-growing
urban businesses.
According to Inc. Magazine’s website, “The ICIC defines inner cities as core urban
areas with higher unemployment and poverty rates and lower median incomes than surrounding metropolitan statistical
areas.” Candidates for the 2008 Inner City 100 were required to be independent, for-profit corporations, partnerships,
or proprietorships, headquartered or having more than half of their physical operations in inner cities, having had 10
or more full-time employees in 2006, and having a five-year operating history that included an increase in sales in 2006
over 2005, sales of at least $200,000 in 2002, and at least $1 million in sales in 2006.
More than 5,000 American companies were nominated for the award, but only 300 were invited to complete a survey and
submit financial documentation. Among the 100 winners, rank was determined by revenue growth from 2002 to 2006.
Nominated by Merrill Lynch, Ascellon placed 22nd on the final listing. About this year’s winners, Inc. Magazine
states, “They are leaders in their communities -- and, indeed, leaders in the U.S. economy. “ This is Ascellon’s
fourth Inner City 100 Award to date.
Ascellon Corporation provides superior management consulting, program management,
and information technology services to the Federal Government, as well as to public and private organizations.
