CompTech Associates Ranked No. 25 in Top 50 Largest Minority-Owned Businesses
Friday, June 06, 2003 CompTech Associates, Inc. (CompTech), was ranked No. 25 on the Baltimore Business Journal?s list of top 50 largest minority-owned businesses.
The Baltimore Business Journal's list was compiled from minority-owned businesses in the Baltimore metropolitan area. ?Minority businesses are the backbone of this nation?s economy, providing jobs to over 4 and a half million people nationwide,? said Ronald Langston, National Director, MBDA (U.S. Department of Commerce?s Minority Business Development Agency). To continue to increase these numbers, we must ensure that they have a stake in the global marketplace.? According to Congressman Ciro D. Rodriguez (Dem, TX), minority-owned businesses are increasing universally. There was a 16-percent increase in women-owned businesses, an 84-percent increase of Native-American businesses, a 30-percent increase in Asian-owned businesses, a 26-percent increase in African-American businesses, and a 30-percent increase in Latino-owned businesses (Small Business, Huge Value, September 28, 2003).
