CompTech Associates Awarded 8(a) STARS GWAC
Thursday, May 27, 2004 The General Services Administration (GSA) awarded Comp-Tech Associates, Inc. (CompTech), the 8(a) STARS (Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services) Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC).
This new Information Technology 8(a) set-aside contract vehicle replaces the 8(a) FAST GWAC due to expire in October 2004. More than 400 Industry Partners were awarded this vehicle. One of the major changes from the older 8(a) FAST contract vehicle is an expansion from one functional area to eight based on the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS). CompTech was awarded the functional areas (FAs) for Custom Computer Programming Services (FA1) and Computer Facilities Management Services (FA3). 8(a) STARS is a seven-year contract, with a three-year base period and two, two-year option periods.
Established in 1996 and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, CompTech delivers superior management support, program management, and information technology services to the Federal Government, as well as to public and private organizations. A highly qualified small business, CompTech has been awarded several GSA GWAC contracts since 1998.
