CompTech Associates Wins CMS Contract for Federal Monitoring and Oversight of Long-Term Care Facilities
Monday, September 29, 2003 Comp-Tech Associates, Inc. (CompTech), won a five-year contract totaling more than $21 million from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for Federal monitoring and oversight services in long-term care facilities.
CompTech will travel onsite to conduct comparative (look-behind) surveys of long-term care facilities to validate findings of State Survey Agencies regarding quality of care. Additionally, CompTech?s onsite survey teams will conduct follow up visits, complaint and special investigations, and crisis surveys. CMS is responsible for overseeing more than 16,800 nursing homes that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. These nursing homes accommodate nearly 3 million vulnerable people who are elderly and disabled. CompTech also recently won a similar contract from CMS for Federal monitoring and oversight services in psychiatric hospitals.
